Women’s Singles winner – Pat Taylor won with Heather Simpson runner-up. 

There were 5 qualifiers – Pat, Bev Lang and Jane Bradbury had first round byes.  Heather Simpson defeated Sue McFarlane 21-19 then Jane Bradbury 21-18 to reach the final.  Pat defeated Bev Lang to take the other finals spot.   Pat’s extensive experience took her to another Singles Title – well  done to all participants – a hard fought competition.

Chris Macdonald has won his second club singles title of the season. He followed up his impressive win in the Open Singles by beating Laurie Flynn in today’s final of the Junior Singles. It’s been a successful season for Chris with those two wins, plus runner-up places in the Triples, Fours and Mixed Fours.

Two superstars of New Zealand Bowls accepted an invitation to impart some of their extensive knowledge to our players recently.   Two-times World Champion, Gary Lawson, was joined by National Male Player of the Year, Lance Pascoe.
