Winners of the Champ of Champ Womens Triples 2023-24

The Home of the Blues has won the Champion of Champions Women’s Triples title. Skipped by Audrey Stevenson the team was involved in a tough, tense day especially in their final against Annette Piper’s Waitarere Beach combination. Leading 12-6 at one stage, the Raumati team saw their lead evaporate until they trailed 14-15. Holding their nerve, they settled well and eventually won by 19-15.

All attention then focussed on the men’s final. “Evergreen’ Arnold Osborne led very efficiently throughout the day and especially in the final against Paekakariki which featured a few kills. In the middle was the steady Steve Sargent while skip David Hawken was outstanding. They took the lead in the 4 ^th end and held it until the 17^th end when Dereck Taylor’s team drew level at 13-all. A single on the final end meant Raumati didn’t quite make it two from two.
