Miserable weather kept away all but the most determined club members on the Opening Day of the 2020-21 season. Still, over 40 people turned up for a brief message from President John, the raising of the flag and the first bowl indicating the season has started.
Long-serving member, Glyn Phillips, was all smiles as he hoisted the flag. Glyn has been an outstanding player and dedicated club person but many members were not aware that he made the heavy curtains which divide the bar area from the main hall. A man of many talents!
Patricia Swanepoel delivered the first bowl, trying (and succeeding) to get it somewhere near the jack which had been rolled up earlier by club Patron, Bill Moffatt.
Once again there was an abundance of food for an early afternoon tea.
