Michelle Macdonald capped off a very successful weekend for our women when she won the final of the Centre Novice (Year1-2) singles. She showed wonderful composure in her match against Matt Horne of Waitarere Beach. Facing match point at 18-20 down, Michelle scored a 3 to take the game 21-20. She’d done something similar in her semi-final against Stephanie Hansen of Otaki.
On 3 Octoner 2020 the Club held the qualifying rounds of both the men’s and women;s Triples championships. The day started out with a cold wind but conditions improved as the day went on.The photograph includes many of the players prior to starting the second game.

Hari’s Birthday Bash The club’s Melbourne Cup event coincided with the 86th birthday of popular longtime member, Hari Jackson. Hari’s face carried a permanent grin throughout, especially when he cut and then shared his superb birthday cake.
