St Patrick kindly permitted a break in the bleak weather to enable us to celebrate St Patrick’s Day with some bowls for newcomers, a spider event, free sausage sizzle and Guinness for those who wished to partake.

Laurie Flynn drew on all his 4 years’ experience to beat Phil and take the title. On the way, Laurie toppled the defending champion Chris Macdonald in a nail-biting semi final, 21- 20, while Phil defeated Allen Hutchison.

Consistently impressive bowls resulted in Craig Walker and Adam Ryan winning the inaugural Junior 2x4x2 at the Raumati BC over the weekend.
