Centre Fours Achievements
The club’s best-performed Men’s combination- David Hawken, Michael Hunter, Allen Hutchison and Chris Macdonald– played impressively to reach the semi-finals. In their semi, they were neck and neck throughout until the 12th end when something akin to a Tiger Woods triple bogey cost them dearly. Nevertheless third equal was a terrific result.
The Women went one better. They turned on a superb display to win their semi final and were always a chance in the final against Otaki Railway. Unfortunately, as often happens in bowls, the other team finished stronger. The club support for Ronnie Crone, Jane Bradbury, Marie Yaxley and Michelle Macdonald was much appreciated.
